Dr. Michael Aboud

Dr. Michael Aboud’s legacy is one of vision, dedication, and impact.

At the tender age of 24, armed with nothing but a fervent passion to forge his own destiny, Dr. Aboud embarked on a journey that would shape the landscape of the private security industry. In 1983, he laid the foundation for Aboud Security, a venture founded on sheer determination rather than capital or experience. Under his astute leadership, ASSL has emerged as a regional security powerhouse, boasting an expansive network spanning 25 locations across the Caribbean, encompassing pivotal territories such as Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, Guyana, Antigua, and St. Vincent with a workforce of over 8,000. Furthermore, he has made substantial investments in the tourism and entertainment industry, cementing his status as an indomitable industrialist.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Aboud’s achievements have garnered international recognition and a myriad of accolades. Most notably, in 1997, he secured the esteemed title of “Entrepreneur of the Year – Service Industry” from Ernest and Young International (EY). His contributions to the correctional community were lauded in 2013 by the American Correctional Association (ACA, USA) with the “Executive Gold Foreign” distinction. That same year, he received the “Award of Organizational Merit” from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS, USA) for his steadfast support in professional security development.

Beyond his significant contributions to the private security domain, Dr. Aboud assumed the role of Chairman at ECHE in 2023, marking a pivotal juncture in the company’s trajectory. With a strategic investment of US$2 million in the inaugural year, he has steered the allocation of substantial resources toward fortifying ECHE’s infrastructure, human resources, training, and technological capabilities.
